Always wanted to learn to throw but been told it's really difficult or perhaps tried but without much success?
LEARN TO THROW NOW!
With one to one instruction and my unique techniques you can learn ........
QUICKLY & EASILY !
After just a few hours tuition I guarantee you will be throwing really satisfying pots!
My teaching method concentrates on the usual sticking points:
- Centering
- Opening out
- Raising a cylinder
You will quickly learn how to 'tame' the clay using methods that don't rely on strength.
There is no magic, I simply use common sense techniques to work around and quickly overcome the most common difficulties.
Our working week runs from Tuesday to Saturday.
NEW OR RETURNING TO CERAMICS?
To discover your creative potential and style you first need a grounding in the basic 'mechanics' of working with clay.
Tuition is individual and covers all the traditional working methods such as coiling, slabbing, pinching, molding, casting and throwing. Even if you have never worked with clay before, you’ll soon be making attractive pots or sculptures. If you want to concentrate on any particular aspect of the potter’s craft we will make sure you have the time, equipment and materials to pursue your particular interest.

*Although tutored classes are from 10-30 am to 5pm the work areas are open all day and evening. Afternoons tend to be used to practice what has been learned that morning. Help and advice is normally available in the afternoon. Alternatively you may feel like having a well earned siesta or take a drive to visit one of the many local sites of interest.
Lunch Menus are based around a healthy ‘Mediterranean’ diet and we use locally sourced fresh ingredients as much as possible. Wines and other drinks are all included. Lunch is probably the most important part of the day! Your likes and dislikes will be catered for. Enjoy!
Finished fired and glazed works taken home are charged at €7 per kilo.
N.B. For single day bookings we require payment in advance.
For multiple days we require a 25% deposit 4 weeks in advance.
